Arrivé aux Etats-Unis à la fin des années trente. Robert CAPA l'invite à devenir membre de l'agence Magnum, qu'il présidera plus tard.
Il photographie en Europe et Etats-Unis, les enfants, chiens, stars, avec un humour satirique.
Elliott Erwitt est un photographe ayant souvent l'oeil attiré par des détails amusants.

Born in Paris in 1928. Moved to New York in 1938 and in Los Angeles in 1941. Elliott Erwitt was invited to join Magnum.
He is an advertising and journalistic photographer known for his black and white candid shots of ironic and absurd situations within everyday settings.
